The 2008 Westerhold Syrah is our current vintage. The 2008 vintage, and a small amount of our 2007 Syrah, is available by clicking here for an order form. They are beautiful expressions of our vineyard and Russell's winemaking style.

2008 Westerhold Family Vineyards Syrah

Initially, there are notes of blackberry and raspberry on the nose, with hints of white pepper and bacon fat. On the palate, there are dark fruits, roasted meats and a hint of anise on the finish. The textures are round and seductive with amazing verve. ~ Russell Bevan, Winemaker.

2007 Westerhold Family Vineyards Syrah

From the minute we started pressing this wine, it has always spoken to the fruit's pure blackberry and boysenberry flavors. Aromatically, the wine shows an initial wave of dark fruits and white pepper, but underneath lies hints of spice and a gentle kiss of mocha. While the flavors and scents come from the vineyard, the textures are reminiscent of the wine's Northern Rhone ancestry. Even though the wine is very rich and seductive, it never comes across as heavy or syrupy. On the palate, it is lively and has the verve to compliment even the heartiest dishes. ~ Russell Bevan, Winemaker.
